Using Wireless Serial
A wireless serial port allows for communication between two external serial enabled devices. It is useful in transmitting data wirelessly for computers and micro-controllers for remote control and remote data acquisition. If done correctly, this can be both cost effective and quick. Extremely easy to install and use, a wireless serial port adapter requires virtually no maintenance. Nor does it need any additional host or software.
DataBridge provides an input/output that is wireless, bridging analog and digital data, as well as Serial Bridge. This wireless serial is sampled and repeated approximately two hundred times per second all while maintaining long range and low power latency. Latency is the lowest on the market, registering at five milliseconds. The master provides six digital inputs to the slave, giving it six digital outputs. To provide the slave with two analog outputs, the master has two analog inputs. This is also reversed, with the master receiving six digital outputs from the slave’s six digital inputs. Also, the master gains two analog outputs from the slave’s two digital inputs. Data integrity is maintained using acknowledgments and checksums.
To install, no comprehensive, exhaustive knowledge of wireless is required to connect your personal computer to your wireless serial device, or to connect one micro-controller to another wirelessly. Equipment looks more professional and clean and operations run smoothly with correct installation. Because simple jumpers are used, each wireless serial can be used as either the master or the slave.
Two models are required for communication, but may be mixed and matched. DataBridge does offer discounts on bulk orders.
