The Apple iPhone Won’t Kill Prepaid Phones
Despite the popularity of the Apple iPhone. It’s quite interesting to see that it seems like despite the fact that we’re in a recession right now. Both the top and the bottom end of the cell phone market are growing. You start to see now the blackberry prepaid phone taking off as well as the Google Android phones taking off. This is all happening at the same time.
It’s very odd to me to see how quickly things have changed in the mobile phone and technology market in just a few short years. Even though there are so many options available. People are migrating downward as they realize that they don’t need 1000 or 10,000 minutes a month. In fact, with options such as the boost mobile plans which offer prepaid unlimited service for a very very reasonable rate. It’s easy to see why people would switch in the 1st place.
Companies such as Sprint who have traditionally been very much the kind of competitor who just does the same things that Verizon and AT&T do has gone a bit of a buying spree in the prepaid mobile phone space. It’s been quite odd to see them by companies such as Virgin mobile United States of America has a offer something very similar to what Boost Mobile already does.
I think that even though very strong phones exist such as the iPhone. Companies are finding out that there is a whole market available for people who just don’t want to spend as much on their prepaid no contract phone. After all, if you can get a better deal, why wouldn’t you take it?
